INFORMBIO Hosts Stakeholder Engagement Event at University of Galway
On 20th April 2026 MTU held its latest stakeholder engagement workshop with Thematic Stakeholders hosted at University of Galway. The event titled “Creating a Sustainable Knowledge Base for Ireland’s Circular Bioeconomy” was hosted the DAFM-funded InformBio project in collaboration with the BioValue project. The workshop brought together different bioeconomy experts to give feedstock on foresight studies being undertaken within both projects, along with InformBio’s prototype and monitoring framework.
The first part of the workshop focused on a presentation of results to date from InformBio’s Foresight Analysis work, including talks from James Gaffey and Theresa Rubhara of MTU, and George Bishop and David Styles of UG. Next Jorge Diaz Huerta, Reamonn Fealy and Jesko Zimmerman of Teagasc hosted an interactive workshop focused on prioritizing bioeconomy indicators for inclusion within a bioeconomy monitoring framework.
After two lunch workshops took place. The first workshop hosted by Carmen Dominguez of MTU and InformBio Colleagues, focused on getting stakeholder input for foresight study recommendations to support future bioeconomy development. Next Maeve Henchion and Maria Ordonez Olivo hosted a foresight workshop on behalf of the BioValue project to get stakeholder input into high potential areas for technology development in Ireland.
Thanks for all the stakeholders for feeding your valuable insights to both projects.
